Bringing a bit of change in the ecological systems by reduce, reuse and recycle of the ocean bound plastics and metal driven Eyewear industry. Creating a place where vision is no longer a barrier to see this beautiful world through one pair. Onepair charity was created with a vision to help people with eye care, whether it is to find a pair of eye glasses, to find doctor for eye exam/surgery. Onepair charity a independent nonprofit with the solutions, people and resources to eradicate the vision care crisis for good. We believe that when the people see better, it is always better. Together with donors, volunteers, partners and sponsors, we bring eye exams, glasses and permanent vision centers to the individuals and places that need eye care the most. It all started with an idea of a middle school kid to give away couple pairs of glasses to local kids in Arizona, USA and to kids in Bangalore,India who couldn’t afford them.

Ms.Vandana ( name changed for Privacy) was referred to Vittala international institute of ophthalmology from vision centre in bangalore. The child was diagnosed with Keratoconus in both eyes.
Keratoconus is a degenerative disorder of the eye in which structural changes within the cornea cause it to thin and change to a more conical shape than the more normal gradual curve. Corneal Collagen Cross linking (C3R surgery) is currently the only treatment to stop progression of keratoconus and to avoid corneal transplant. It works by increasing collagen crosslinks which are the natural “anchors” within the cornea. These anchors are responsible for preventing the cornea from bulging out and becoming steep and irregular. With crosslinking, the outer layer of the cornea (called the epithelium) is left intact, riboflavin, a type of B vitamin, is injected into the cornea, which then is activated with UV light. The child was advised to undergo BOTH EYES C3R SURGERY right eye followed by left eye.
The patient went through surgery on both her eyes and the surgery lasted for 1hr per eye and was uneventful. Thanks to the operating team of Dr.Vandana Sayra – Operating surgeon, Mr.Anil Kumar - Surgery Assistant, and OT Assistants- Mr.Muthuraj and Mr.Samuel Dennis of Vittal International Institute for making this happen. Motto of VIIO ( "No one shall go blind for want of money or lack of care"), we at Onepaircharity stand by this!!

We appreciate your support of our programs to improve the vision of poor children and adults in the United States and around the world. For over 80 years, New Eyes has been committed to giving clear sight to those most in need by providing a basic pair of eyeglasses.
Please know that your efforts will make a difference in poor people’s lives. Our volunteers will sort and categorize the contacts and used glasses to be shipped overseas to impoverished people living in countries such as Haiti, Ghana, India, Indonesia, and Senegal. These glasses are often the first and only pair of glasses these recipients will ever own! Your donation will improve the lives of the needy – children can succeed in school, adults can find or maintain employment and the elderly can remain independent.
